WATER CLASSROOMS

Reimagining Learning on Water

Teaching Modules

Explore water from a multi-dimensional lens in your classrooms – Beginning with our personal relationship to water, to shared waters and social equity, to water systems and the challenges to sustainability at a planetary scale such as pollution and climate change. Teaching plans for various topics under these modules were developed in collaboration with experts, educators and students.

Ripples – an Exhibition of Learning

Water classroom workshops were conducted with nearly thirty students from six schools over the summer of 2022. This exhibition is a story of transformation of student perceptions on water as they engaged in multi-disciplinary conversations about water during these workshops.

This policy brief summarizes the findings from the Water Classrooms project and discusses recommendations to make progress towards transforming learning environments and building capacities of educators as well as towards SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 6 (Water and Sanitation).
